Basis Osprey Folding Low Step Electric Folding Bike - a compact yet quick little runabout that can be stored out of the way where space is an issue yet will still get you about your business. The 13-inch step through frame folds down to half its size when you need to store it, and with the adjustable quick release seat post can fit into a very small space indeed.

Even on the smaller 8.8Ah battery option you shouldn’t be too stretched when it comes to range - you can do up to 30 miles per charge on that option, or up to a whopping 50 on the 14Ah battery. At the office you can remove the battery to charge it, or you can plug the bike in without taking the battery out.

Components wise the Basis e-bike has 20” CST tyres, adjustable quick release seat post, full mudguards, front suspension and alloy V Brakes. A side stand is fitted along with a luggage rack with bungee straps. The bike will be delivered 100% fully assembled. You just need to unfold the pedals, frame and handlebar.

Most of the energy passing through the drivetrain on an e-bike is from you the rider. The Shimano 6 speed gearing system is more than enough for city streets and even the odd country lump when used with the 3 pedal assist functions on the 250-watt power system. Under European regulations speed is limited to 25km/h (15.5mph) so on faster downhill stretches the speed limiter will cut the motor out.

Do I need a driving licence to ride an e-bike on the road?

If you’re over 14 in England, Scotland and Wales, you are legally allowed to ride an electric bike on the road without a licence. You will not have to pay any form of tax and personal insurance is optional.

Is the Basis Osprey e-bike fully assembled?

All Basis models will arrive to you 90% assembled. You will be required to manually adjust parts such as the handlebars, pedals and saddles. It is a simple process that will not require much effort or time.

Can this e-bike be used as a normal bike?

Yes, it can be. Disable assistance on your e-bike, and you will have a fully functioning pedal bike.

Can my Basis Osprey get wet?

The battery of the Basis models is safely concealed within a waterproof casing. Treat your Basis e-bike like a standard bike in bad weather.

Warranty

A 12-month warranty is included with all Basis electric bikes.

What Parts Are Covered?

Parts that are covered by the manufacturer's warranty include the frame, forks, seat, motor, controller, battery and charger.

Please be aware that your warranty is only valid subject to correct care, maintenance, and the reasonable use of your e-bike.

Warranty Exceptions  

• Items like tyres, inner tubes, chains, chain wheels, sprockets, brake pads, bearings, spokes, handlebar grips or cables are consumables. These parts can be replaced for a fee but are not part of our manufacturer's warranty policies.
• Any aesthetic damage such as corrosion, paint cracks, chips, and water damage.
•  The results of fatigue and any damage, failure or loss caused by accident, misuse, abuse or theft.
• Failure or damage due to poor care, maintenance or modification.
• Incorrectly following product manual guidelines.
• Damage resulting from extreme use.
• Your warranty will be rejected if there is evidence of an attempt to open the battery case.
